Google Antivirus for Android Disappointing

Google may succeed with the Android OS, but in terms of antivirus seemed to bite the fingers.

Because, as quoted from Guru3D, Friday (14/12/2012), google antivirus application performance in an examination conducted by a professor named Xuxian Jiang of North Carolina University, showed disappointing results.

Antivirus which was originally intended for OS Android 4.2 is the test is only able to recognize 193 of 1,260 samples that included malicious applications or about 20 percent. While antivirus applications for other Android capable incise carving 51 percent to 100 percent of the introduction of malicious applications.

Positively, Google plots antivirus installed by default and will run when users download apps from Android Market or from other sources in order to ensure the security of downloaded applications.

Of course it could be the first bulwark against the threat of malicious applications from entering the Android-based phone users.

But despite Google’s claim antivirus currently has a less convincing performance, Jiang predicted that the future performance of the antivirus will experience significant improvisation. Provided that Google’s technology so pinning Virus Total newly acquired recently.
